The following is clarifications against 14 issues raised in the fiction;
- Seyoung Foundation was founded by DSME with its money (100%), so it is DSME who should appoint the Chair of Seyoung Foundation. The composition and qualifications of the board members including governors fully meets the regulations set by Private School Law of Korea. The board of directors consists of eight directors and two auditors, including three educational experts (professors and university president) and two open directors.
- Seyoung Foundation has independence and transparency in finance according to the Private School Act of Korea and adequacy of accounting has been annually confirmed through external audits and audits by the Ministry of Education. Any entity including the foundation can fund the schools (Koje College and ISK), but reverse flow of money (including any financial transaction between the schools) is strictly prohibited by the law. The funds within the schools can only be used or invested in the schools.
- The first and the second Chair's financial fraud are related to DSME's accounting, irrelevant to Seyoung Foundation.
- ISK encourages teachers to develop their teaching abilities while supporting various kinds of training costs.
- When supply of accommodation was very tight in Geoje, ISK requested Seyoung Foundation to own and supply some of apartments to be provided to ISK teachers as part of welfare for teachers. ISK at that time decided not to own apartments in order to avoid risk of vacancies when need of accommodation declines.
- ISK Global Campus will be used for educational purposes of ISK or as part of CSR in accordance with its long term development plan. The building is recognized by Office of Education as fit for education. The purchasing process was approved by the board.
- Planning of printing business by the Foundation was to financially support the schools. As usual, this should be subject to approval by the Ministry of Education and conducted separately from the schools.
- ISK launched an IT project to establish academic & administration management system and received three proposals from three IT firms. Daewoo Information System was the best in terms of system configuration and cost as well.
