Leaning in Action

The Snails have been busy with some wonderful learning this week! In Language Arts, they practised retelling familiar stories, including Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. They really enjoyed acting out the tales and sharing the key events in order. In Maths, they explored numbers and quantities up to 10 and had fun learning about 2D shapes. Our Big Snails in Reception also began their journey into phonics, learning letters and the sounds they make — a very exciting milestone!

In Science this week, the Tigers wrapped up their unit with a super hands-on activity. Ms. Melisa took the pupils outside to plant seeds, giving them the chance to connect their learning to the natural world. It was a lovely way to end the topic, and the students enjoyed getting their hands dirty while thinking about how plants grow and change. This practical experience helped them see science in action all around them!

In Computing, the Kraken class became logic detectives under the guidance of their creative teacher, Ms. Brindha. They explored pseudocode, focusing on conditional statements such as IF, IF ELSE, and ELSEIF. Working in groups, they carefully read through different algorithms and predicted the outcomes, showing excellent teamwork and reasoning skills. The real highlight came when they created their own pseudocode for real-life situations, from deciding if they had enough money to eat at a restaurant to calculating grades from test scores. Their creativity and problem-solving really shone through in this engaging lesson.
