"Our teachers are confident and help us to improve. We learn many different and interesting subjects well because the teachers explain them amazingly. The school has many enjoyable and fun activities. We also have some field trips where we get to adventure and explore."

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Atherton International School (AIS)!

We know that relocation and an overseas assignment can be exciting. We also know

it can be stressful and a little scary. AIS is here to help and to give you confidence in

moving your child to a new school in a new country, on the beautiful island of Geoje.

AIS is a unique, small school of between 100 and 150 students from

nursery to age 18, which provides a warm welcome to students and their families.

Class sizes are on average around 12-15 students.

AIS is an inclusive, international learning community with over 18 different nationalities represented amongst the students and faculty. We provide an education which promotes academic achievement, social responsibility and global awareness.

Our academic program in Early Years, Primary and Middle School is based on the British National Curriculum, delivered through the International Early Years (iEYC), Primary (iPC) and Middle Years (iMYC) thematic approach.

Our High School students follow the world famous Cambridge International Education IGCSE and A Level programs, which prepare students for access to the top universities around the world.

We recognise that some students will choose to study in the US and therefore we can also fully prepare them to access US universities.

Our secondary students work towards the William Pike Challenge Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to develop social awareness and personal resilience.

AIS students and teachers take pride in their school. We are a passionate learning community. They are confident learners who are willing to challenge themselves to achieve their best; they are resilient and determined to succeed.
