Collaboration Assembly

This week, the students took on a unique challenge: to form a group with peers they didn’t already know well. They were asked to create teams that included children of different ages and a mix of boys and girls. Once grouped, they had just a few minutes to come up with a group cheer that included both words and movement!
Some groups found it easy to work together despite their differences, while others found it more challenging—but everyone learned something valuable. During our reflection, the children openly discussed why it can be hard to collaborate with new people. They mentioned communication challenges (especially since everyone is using English!), feeling nervous or shy, not knowing each other well, and sometimes even cultural or expressive differences that can be misunderstood.
We ended the session with an important reminder: everyone we meet, play with, or work alongside is different—and that’s what makes life rich and exciting! Accepting and trying to understand one another is a big part of growing as a kind and collaborative person.
A big well done to all the children who received awards for being excellent collaborators this week!
