Over the past few weeks, in Year 10/11, students have been brushing up on different sentence types and trying them out in their own writing. It’s been a good way to build confidence and add a bit more variety to their sentences. The class also looked at monologues and talked about how a writer’s voice comes through. Alongside this, they’ve been busy working on their partner projects, researching ideas, designing slides, and getting ready to present together. Nice work Ms. Gloria and Hydra class!

In the Tigers class this week, students kicked off their cooking sessions during Project time. Working in small groups, they made their cakes and showed great teamwork in the kitchen. There was lots of helping, sharing tasks, and taking care with the ingredients. Alongside the cooking, students also started designing their own class cookbook, thinking about how to organise the recipes and present their ideas clearly. Thank you Ms. Melissa!

In Year 7 Social Studies this week, students wrapped up their economics unit with a fun real-world example of day trading. A big thank you to Mrs. Jantzen for visiting the class and showing how the stock market works using a demo account. Students watched how prices change quickly and saw how money can be gained or lost in just a few minutes. It sparked lots of curiosity and great questions as they explored how people try to predict the right moment to buy or sell. Excellent concept, Ms. Haley!
